Center for Alternative Development Trust (CADT) is a research driven development organization in Bangladesh. It aims to explore value-based knowledge and skills to devise human and social progress in line of the national and community development agenda.

CADT is established and patronized by a group of philanthropist, activists and reputed corporate houses in response of societal responsibility.

CADT is a dynamic organization ready to respond community in changing needs in a changing world. Currently, we have three institutions as follows:

    1.  Academy of Quran is a high-end research facility to explore Quranic knowledge for the welfare of humankind
    2. Academy of Zakat is a community-based outlet to develop and test applications to use Zakat and charity
    3. Academy of Leadership, Innovation and Practice Area (ALIPA) is the front-line platform to develop and expand the scope of business opportunity around the humanitarian actions

CADT envisions a harmonious society based on our values and respond to the need of the community. We develop our portfolio in below areas:

    1. Education and Skills
    2. Employability and Economic Wellbeing
    3. Resiliency and Tolerance

CADT believes in human dignity, equal rights to live and compassion for all.

We are living through an unprecedented moment in time due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but what gives me hope is our equally unprecedented commitment to responding to the needs of our community. Philanthropy is a part of our history and we have witnessed compassion for each other in every sphere of our hard time. CADT has been emerged to extend this legacy in response of the society largely.

While the needs and the incredible potential of our community have never been greater, every day we see the impact of our stakeholder’s generosity and contributions. The lasting impactful change we want to see will take time. That is why CADT invests for the long term.

What is clearer than ever before, though, is that we cannot achieve success if we choose to pursue our mission independently. Rather, success requires that we consistently work to achieve our vision through integrated initiatives that place a high priority on moving us forward simultaneously on multiple fronts and managing our total impact as a community led organization. Allah (SWT) says in the holy Quran:

‘Is there any reward for goodness except goodness? So, which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (Surah Ar-Rahman, 55:60-61)

The history of humankind is nothing but a saga of helping each other. One of the significant parts of responsibility in Islam is our responsibilities towards other people in our lives. Being in the society, every individual should do something for what he\she gains from others.  Allah (SWT) says in the holy Quran:

‘You are the best community ever raised for humanity-you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah..’ (Surah Al-i-Imran, 3:110)

The increasing complexity of human lives and global issues are placing a greater burden to our society.   it is not possible to solve these problems by relying on individual efforts. In response, many good souls are joining hands in activities that make a social contribution. Companies have become more involved in activities that reflect a stronger awareness of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

CADT is developing a network of communities and stakeholders in solving actual problems that confront our society on the ground. We know from experience that bringing people together creates synergies. CADT’s most valuable asset is research driven approach to seek knowledge and skills to innovate new applications to address inhumanity, underdevelopment and poverty.
